Public Advisory:  Effective Thursday, January 14, 2021at 12:01 a.m., the government is issuing a stay-at-home order requiring everyone to remain at home with exceptions for essential purposes, such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing health care services, for exercise or for essential work.  A State of Emergency has been declared in Ontario. Provincial Shutdown measures remain in effect with further restrictions added. Read more here.

Outbreak at The Village Senior Community Declared Over

The COVID-19 Outbreak at The Village Senior Community has been declared over. The original positive tests have been declared as false positives. After retesting the original sample, and doing 2 more subsequent tests on the people that originally tested positive, all of these retests have come back negative.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is working with Bluewater District School Board to address an outbreak of COVID-19 associated with Normanby Community School in Ayton, Ontario; that is, evidence of transmission of COVID-19 within the school environment. To date, there are 2 cases related to this outbreak.

COVID-19 Associated with School

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is working with Bluewater District School Board to address a positive case of COVID-19 associated with Normanby Community School in Ayton,  Ontario. While there is one positive case associated with the school, there is no evidence that transmission took place within the school environment. To date, there are no outbreaks; that is, evidence of transmission from person to person, in any schools or childcare centres, in Grey Bruce.
