Public Assistance Request – Dog Bite – Kincardine

Grey Bruce Public Health is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the owner of a dog that was involved in a biting incident in the Municipality of Kincardine on Feb. 1, 2024.

A man was bitten by a dog, believed to be a German Shepherd, at about 8:50 a.m. as the man was walking down Mechanics Avenue in the town of Kincardine.

The dog was on a leash at the time of the incident and was being walked by a woman who was also pushing a baby stroller.

Grey Bruce Public Health needs to confirm the dog is not infectious with the rabies virus. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call Grey Bruce Public Health at 519-376-9420 ext. 1530.
