2026 Healthy Communities Conference: Building a Culture of Wellness

The Healthy Communities Conference brings together community leaders, service providers, planners and partners to explore how we can build a culture of wellness across Grey and Bruce Counties. Through keynote presentations, panels and breakout sessions, participants will explore prevention-focused, equity-informed and community-driven approaches to health and wellbeing.

Event Date: Tuesday April 28, 2026

Location: Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre, 1900 3rd Avenue East

Cost: $79.10 ($70 + $9.10 HST)

 

Conference Objectives

  1. Inspire the development of lasting, equitable health and social systems that reduce barriers to community health and well-being.
  2. Explore strategies for navigating the political, economic, and geographic constraints of our health and social systems.
  3. Encourage coordination and knowledge transfer between health systems, social services, community partners, and marginalized groups.\
  4. Create a space for honest dialogue about aging, income, inclusion, environment, and culture safety.

 

Breakout Sessions (You will be required to select your session when registering)

Morning Breakout Sessions:

  • Designing age-friendly, walkable communities across the lifespan
  • Culturally safe & sensitive care in practice: Indigenous-led models and broader applications
  • Work, income and well-being: Building sustainable pathways

Afternoon Breakout Sessions:

  • Improving equity and access to palliative care
  • Belonging, inclusion and newcomer welcome
  • Healthy land, healthy water, healthy people

Event Location

I hereby grant permission to Grey Bruce Health Unit and its representatives to take photographs or videos of me and to make recordings of my voice at the event identified in this registration. I further grant to Grey Bruce Health Unit and its representatives the right to reproduce, use, exhibit, display, and distribute and create derivative works of these images and recordings for administrative, educational or research purposes. I acknowledge that Grey Bruce Health Unit owns all rights to the images and recordings.

No refunds will be given however we understand things happen!  If something comes up and you are no longer able to attend, registrations may be transferred to another person.  If possible, please notify e.meneray@publichealthgreybruce.on.ca.  Substitutions will be honored at any time. 

With the ever-changing nature of the Pandemic, we will communicate should we need to make a shift to virtual.
