Personal service settings (PSS) are facilities that provide tattooing, body piercing/modification, and aesthetic services that may include hairdressing and barbering, electrolysis, waxing and hair removal, manicure/pedicure, micropigmentation, microblading, microdermabrasion, facials, and eyelash extensions/tinting.
Public Health Units in Ontario are required to annually inspect personal service settings to ensure that they comply with standards designed to protect clients from communicable diseases and infections. Additional inspections are conducted as necessary to follow up on directions provided to operators during routine inspections, and to respond to complaints.
Summary inspection results are available at Check It
Check It is designed to provide the public with information regarding inspections of certain public establishments in Grey Bruce, which may assist you in being a well-informed consumer. These inspection results describe what the Public Health Inspector observed at the date of the inspection. It is not intended to guarantee the condition of the PSS and should not be relied upon for that purpose.
If you have received a service provided by a PSS and have concerns, you can contact the Grey Bruce Health Unit at 519-376-9420 ext. 6.
